When Frosty Launched Through The Chase Bathurst 2007
It was Sunday, October 7th, the day of the 2007 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. Qualifying was over, the crowd were excited, and the best drivers in Australia were ready to go.

The race started at 10:30 a.m, and it was pretty uneventful during the early stages. That all changed on lap 142, however, when rain fell hard over different parts of the circuit.

Skyline, The Cutting, and parts of Conrod Straight were getting wetter by the second, and the drivers were pushing hard on every corner. Race commentators called it 'a recipe for disaster', but even they were surprised at what happened next.

Leading the race was Mark Winterbottom, and he was absolutely flying. Moving at 300 km an hour, the man nicknamed 'Frosty' lost control of his car and left the track behind.

At one stage, it looked like he was soaring through the air, yet somehow the Castrol Ford managed to stay on the ground. However, Frosty's hopes of a win were well and truly over, finishing 10th overall. Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup went on to win the race, with just 1.2 seconds separating the top 4 cars.

There's a reason it's one of the most viewed events in the history of this great race. Check out the incredible moment when Frosty launched through The Chase on the Bathurst 1000.
