In late 2004 FPV released the Mark 2 upgrade of the well received 2003 Boss 290 range of performance vehicles. On the outside the range gained new colours, body striping and bonnet decals on the power bulge sides. Whilst the pursuit and GT kept the same rims as the Mark 1 series, the GT-P gained a unique set of 19” 5-spoke alloy rims.

The main mechanical modification to the Mark 2 range was the replacement of the old 5-speed gearbox with a Tremec T56 6-speed gearbox as used by FPV’s competition, albeit with a completely revised shift mechanism and different ratios. Under the bonnet you will still find the powerful Boss 290 engine with modified colour scheme.

Inside, the Mark 2 range came with the race-inspired sports gauges which display oil pressure and oil temperature. Although the range was not radically altered visually, the changes made to the gearbox and interior combined with the new decals and stripes were more than enough to make the Mark 2 FPV range a success.
