Racing action continues in Newcastle on Sunday
Following an historic day that saw the first ever Gen3 Supercars race, the Repco Supercars Championship is back on track on Sunday for Race 2 from the Thrifty Newcastle 500.

Saturday's action saw three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen take dominant win in the 95-lap, 250-kilometre race.

Van Gisbergen's Red Bull Ampol Racing team mate Broc Feeney finished second while Monster Energy Racing's Cam Waters finished third, in a race where 24 of the 25-car field saw the chequered flag at the demanding coastal street circuit.

Following a stunning and sunny Saturday that has been the norm over the previous three Newcastle 500s, Sunday's action will arrive under the threat of rain from the late morning.

The Supercars field will hit the track for 20 minutes of ARMOR ALL Qualifying this morning at 11:15am, followed by a Top Ten Shootout at 12:35pm to determine the pole sitter for Race 2 of the 2023 season.

Race 2 from the Thrifty Newcastle 500 then begins at 3:20pm AEDT, with 95 laps and 250 kilometres of racing to follow.

Every practice, qualifying and race session of the Thrifty Newcastle 500 will be broadcast live on Foxtel and the Seven Network, with Kayo and 7plus streaming the event.

Tickets are available through Ticketek.
